Sun friend still unseen ~
I know she is there, right there ~
I miss her presence.

Sunrise: Where are You?
Dark and light, meet, ethereal force
Sun attempts to push through the mist
Not now, not yet, soon...

Sunrise: January 24, 2011 ~
Like icebergs, fogbergs float on the air sea.
We paddle in circles lamenting sightlessness or
move forward with trust until suddenly
without reason, we meet the sun...

Early Morning Writing: January 23, 2011
weighty clock tick
graphic brick fingers tapping the keyboard
dense hope "something meaningful
floats to the words on the page"
sludge slowly sweeps
through the room

Sunset: January 22, 2011
Sun closes in on the horizon, changes from amber to gray.
Chill blows waves in the river.
Five birds fly in a V
The path to sunset

Lavendar-Gray prelude: 39 degrees. Gold orb emits dust bullets, slicing through finicky mist., insisting to be seen.

Today's Moon Set: a gallant gentlemen, tucking the darkness in his jacket pocket as the ingenue sunrise whispered, "Wait!" #aros

January 17 Stone on a Monday Morning
Scent of homemade applesauce cooking.
Coffee in my cup.
Ancient pencil in my hand.
My notebook open.
Overcast sunrise.

Ancient pencil in my hand.
My notebook open.
Overcast sunrise.

Once Seen, there was no choice
Once seen, there was no choice ~ Feet pushing gravel, camera in hand,
One question alone:
how many photos would be taken while the tank got its fill?

Nature Journaling on Alta Vista Drive ~ #aros on 1/14/2011
Sketch Walk Sketch Walk Walk
This bud will flower in weeks
Watch: I'll draw its growth ~
= = =
I have started keeping a nature journal, well, loosely.
I seem to be most consistent in tracking the sunrise or sunset, though I have also attempted to sketch the nature in my neighborhood.
Most importantly, I enjoy the heck out of it and am devoted to learning the names of my neighborhood natural life...

Conversing with Birds
The Adult Me Never That Is...
Until my renewal walk, today
Conversed with my neighbor birds
In their native whistle-tongue
How do I write their phrase
seee seeee sawwwww
seee seeee sawwwww
So you may hear it too?
I said,
"see seee sawwwwww"
and he bantered back
"see seee sawwwwww"
and eventually showed
himself to me....

In Reverse (#aros poem)
The words were put in reverse
and backed out the curving driveway
of my life. I felt my spine meet with
the feather mattress and decided
for today, it was just fine to
bid them an apathetic goodbye

#Aros January 5, 2011 - Palm Reflections
Preface: I realized I was writing my stones with much less joy because I was so worried about the Stone Rules. Crazy, especially coming from free flow Queen that I am. So today, my stone is not a haiku and isn't even micropoetry. It is short. It is a moment in time. It is just a larger than I have been writing stone.
And it feels just right....
Palm Reflections
My shoulders lunge and my
breath stabs in-startled,
I see the gnashing scar in the
trunk of the palm tree I cherish
The one that lives just outside
my living room bay window ~
"Ouch!" my heart shouts in
loving compassion
and then I realize
it is just the yellow reflection of the camp-turned-art
table, shining its reflection in
the window I look through
All is well
Just as it would have been
if the tree trunk was dented
and my heart tore open
a little wider
all is well
And it feels just right....
